OUR PROJECT 2023

In 2019 Million Steps brought us to Reunion Island. Our 13 runners have all completed the Grand Raid, each of them swallowing 166 km and more than 9600 m of positive elevation gain; all in less than 60 hours. The operation raised 10 000 € for the Fondation Maladies Rares. We are particularly happy with these first steps. We would like to thank the Grand Raid committee for making this dream come true and for helping research to move formward by giving a little hope to families affected by a rare disease. It is a good start.

But the fight against rare diseases is far from being over: we must continue to be engaged. Thus Million Steps team invites you to participate in a new adventure!

This time, we have chosen to face an extreme but beautiful environment. We have chosen to embark on a 700km trek in the Canadian winter, in the Yukon.  Our motivation remains unchanged: to go to the end of our strengths to raise funds for Rare Diseases Foundation. Difference is this time that we have to prepare ourselves for not 3, but 12 days of non-stop effort. Certainly, less elevation gain, but temperatures can go down to -50°C, 70% of the route at night, pulling a pulka [1] of more than 30kg, in a wild and dangerous environment. This expedition will take place in February 2023, but given the magnitude of the challenge, we are starting to prepare ourselves now. It is this whole adventure that we invite you to live with us.

Welcome to Million Steps Arctic!

[1] The pulka is a sled used for sports or transportation. It is pulled by a person or a dog.
